What to Expect

Each photography session is more than just a shoot–it’s an experience. From start to finish, your relationship with our team will be professional, friendly, and communicative. This starts before the photography does. From start to finish, here’s what you can expect from booking a session:

1. BASICS! As your session date nears, we will reach out with a simple questionnaire covering the basics of what you’re hoping for from the session, addressing any concerns you might have, and gathering any information we should know (like locations you’ve been drooling over).

2. GET READY! Once we review the questionnaire, we’ll e-mail you a custom, client-only PDF file about session basics! This will be specifically tailored to your session and will include advice about outfits, location details, and some tips and tricks to calm any nerves you might have.

3. SITE PREP! I will arrive early to the location of choice and make sure that we are ready to rock and roll once you arrive. This includes adjusting organic props, checking for lighting, and making sure everything is spot-on.

4. MODEL STATUS! Once you waltz on the scene, we’ll go over some basic instructions and take a few test shots until you feel comfortable and relaxed behind the camera. We will walk you through a few sample poses while everyone gets used to having pictures taken and we find the light that best compliments the image. Supermodels are welcome, but most of us are just ordinary folks and take a bit longer to relax into our normal postures. This is A-okay, and we’ll make sure that you have the space and time you need to let yourself shine. Once we get into full swing of the session, we’ll provide you with some slight posing guidance to make sure you have the variety you want. Come ready to move, laugh a little, and breathe easy.

5. PERFECT! The best images from your session then go through my editing process. Color corrections, shadow enhancements, and retouches all happen during this stage. Depending on the package you purchased, you’ll receive the finalized digital files, prints, and/or a CD with your images within two weeks of your session. Best of all, your images are archived for three months after your session, which means access is extended, and you will have more than enough time to download, share, and print your photographs.

6. ORDER! If you LOVE specific images, you can coordinate an a la carte product order, even if you didn’t order a print bundle with your collection. With our professional lab partnerships, we can have custom products created with your images. Canvases and metal prints make show-stopping centerpieces, which leads us to step eight.

7. ENJOY! These images will be with you for a lifetime. Savor the special memories and emotions they hold.

Overall, we want you to be as comfortable as possible during your session. Relaxed vibes with helpful instruction mean that you don’t need to do any work–just be you–and we’ll capture every moment.
