Mason & Nicole’s start to Mr. & Mrs. was held at Village by the Sea in Wells, Maine. It’s about a 30-minute drive from Portland, which is usually my home-base when I’m downstate for love stories.
As you guys know, I’m SO glad when brides and grooms opt to keep their wedding days all in the same area. It adds so much flow to the day and lets the newlyweds have more time to socialize with the guests they love without sacrificing too much time. Today’s wedding/getting ready was all in one location. This worked well for Nicole & Mason, who opted for a short, brunch wedding on a sunny Sunday morning.
The sun was in and out behind clouds (just enough to give me a little sunburn, but what’s new!?), and sweet touches like donuts, mimosas, and taffy added a whimsical but charming spin to the day.
These guys have some hilarious friends, so serious photos were not going to be the faves. A support group is huge, especially as you begin a new life as husband and wife, and Nicole & Mason definitely have friends and family who’ve got their backs.
One of my favorite moments during the day was when Mason & Nicole included their little guy, Oliver, in their vows. I’m such a sap, I know, but COME ON. That’s just asking for waterworks. So touching. The day was sweet, just like these two, and I’m so happy for them and the joy to come. Take a peek at a few shots from their short, but sweet day.
