Sarah had reached out to me a few months ago about photographing her and Tom’s 2020 wedding. It was such an exciting and sad moment all wrapped into one because I LOVE meeting new brides and grooms, but I was already booked. We wished each other the best and went on our merry ways.
But last week, I put a model call on my social media for a couple ISO an engagement session on the beach in Portland. I’m a full-time teacher and a wedding and engagement photographer in Northern Maine, so it is rare that I get to journey south and photograph couples on the beautiful Maine coast. While I do have some Portland-area clients, we hadn’t ventured to Two Lights State Park before. So I knew a couple of things. 1) I wanted to photograph a fun, energetic couple and 2) I wanted to capture them at this beautiful gem of a park in Cape Elizabeth.
Sarah immediately reached out, so we quickly set to planning and coordinating outfits. The day came. It was BEAUTIFUL. There were just a few clouds in the sky, the wind was calm, it was SO warm. And then it turned. A storm front was rolling in, complete with cloudy weather and temperamental wind. But Tom & Sarah faced it like professionals. And ya’ll—they ROCKED it (pun intended)!!! They are such naturals in front of the camera and their laughter and energy were absolutely contagious. They are going to be amazing brittnay spaniel parents, and I wish them all the happiness in the world!
We found some beautiful locations in the park. The sun even came out to warm up the waves and paint the sky. We wrapped everything up at Higgins Beach in Scarborough where the high-tide left us with a pristine beach front. What a day. Hanging out with these two was so much fun and I am so glad we were able to make some magic!
But enough of my rambling. Check them out!
