With a lack of rain through an exceptionally sunny summer, the fall leaves decided to turn early. Spectacular color and gorgeous sunshine spilled into the day along with periwinkle and pastel blue tones—a calming balance to the vibrance of Maine foliage.

While the celebration didn’t go exactly as planned, this backyard wedding featured so many touching moments with the sweetest couple. From a pre-recorded speech by a best man away serving in the military, to the edge of Maine’s fall colors, to the sweetest bride and groom, Alex & Allie’s day was full of a quiet and joyful love that you know just can’t help but last.

As someone who interacts with a lot of couples, it’s always so amazing to me to see the different ways that people love each other and how that love extends beyond themselves and interacts with those in their community. Alex & Allie were such a breath of fresh air. Sweet, sure, and peacefully confident in each other. It was such an honor to be their wedding photographer and to be a small part of their fall wedding in Maine.
