FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is your style?

A: Here at Blossom & Pine Media, we focus on enhancing the natural. Photography is so important to us because we understand the timeless value of an heirloom—and that’s what each finished gallery becomes. We believe that true, authentic color is the best way to preserve these memories for as long as possible, so that’s what we capture! Light and airy photography is beautiful, clean, and natural.

We consider ourselves natural light photographers (though we do have lighting sources when we need to use them). We primarily use natural light to flatter our subjects and we put a lot of emphasis on being photojournalistic photographers. In other words, we do not use a studio set up or focus on stiff, traditional posing, but love images full of emotion and movement. We strive to capture people in ways that feel comfortable, confident, and…well, like them. Our images are natural, vibrant, and alive.

Q: What is a print release waiver and why does it matter?

A: A print release waiver gives its holder permission to reproduce the images produced by a photographer (usually with some conditions). If you reproduce any images in any way (post on social media, make prints at Walmart, text a picture to a friend, etc.) without the written permission of the original photographer, you are violating U.S. Copyright Law. In other words–it’s illegal. Yikes! A print release waiver gives you permission to share the images to your heart’s content depending on the certain conditions of your photographer. It doesn’t mean that you own the images, but it does give you the freedom to enjoy them without worry, and you should DEFINITELY make sure your photographer includes one in you package or collection!

Q: Why should we purchase your prints?

A: Yes, I did just stress the importance of a print release waiver—and I stand by that, especially in this age of social media. We want our friends to see fabulous photos!

That being said, physical prints are usually best produced by the photographer who took them. Our computers and the printers at the professional labs we use have been calibrated to work in perfect harmony with our software and monitors. This means that the exact image we create will be best produced by the professional lab we use. Ordering from our professional lab partners results in photos that are printed on the highest quality paper, composed of durable, calibrated colors; and meant to last a lifetime. Walmart can’t do that. If you DO decide to print elsewhere, ask us for recommendations that will give you the closest image!

Q: Do you offer videography?

A: Yes! We are excited to announce that we currently offer highlight videography (2-3 minute video) when booked with a wedding collection. This is SUCH a fun addition to your wedding day and captures emotion—live, to be revisited again and again. Alongside your wedding photos, your wedding highlight video will be a favorite across the board.

Q: What if I need to cancel my session?

A: Let us know ASAP if you are going to cancel your session. The date retainer you is retained for company damages, since we are usually unable to quickly book another client on the date you booked. We do try to be flexible with emergencies, but during busy season, rescheduled dates can be tough to find! If you would like to reschedule your session, contact us so we can work out dates. If you cancel your session, your date deposit may be transferred to a new session once it is rescheduled. Sessions may only be rescheduled once (for a valid reason, which is up the discretion of the photographer) before a new date retainers will be required.

Weddings may not be rescheduled unless an additional date retainer is paid.

Q: How early should I reserve a date?

A: The earlier, the better! By reserving your date in advance, you ensure that you get the date/time that works best for your schedule. Occasionally, during slower seasons, we can accept bookings at a minimum of two weeks in advance, but schedules change rapidly, so it is never too late to ask about availability! If you do book a last-minute session, we may forego questionnaires for the sake of time.

For weddings, we typically book 12-9 months in advance!

Q: When will I get my final images?

A: For weddings, images will be delivered within 6-8 weeks (depending on the season).

For lifestyle sessions, images are delivered within 3 weeks!

Q: What is a proofing gallery?

A: A proofing gallery is a gallery full of all of the unaltered images from your session! If your collection comes with a proofing gallery, you will be able to select your favorite images. Your selection will then become the edited images for the session. A proofing gallery gives you the maximum amount of personalization in your final image gallery, but does come at an extra charge because it does take quite a bit of additional time to work around.

Proofing galleries are also used when designing a wedding album!

Q: How can I order prints if I don’t want a print bundle?

A: You can order individual prints directly from your gallery via the shopping cart icon. They will be shipped straight to your door, so you don’t have to worry about dealing with files at a kiosk! We do HIGHLY recommend ordering a print bundle on top of your collection. This is because our print collections are all hand selected, cropped, and ordered, ensuring the best results from photo printing. When they are pre-ordered, they come with a discount.

Q: Are prices negotiable?

A: Collection prices are fairly firm, but not unyielding. We understand that everyone’s situations/wants are different and that we might not have the exact collection you are looking for. Contact us to request an a-la-carte quote with the specific items you want. We do try to accommodate price points, but we are not budget photographers. Our work is professional and high-grade. We have spent countless hours educating ourselves in order to deliver top-tier images, which our collection prices reflect while still being very affordable for the area.

We DO have bucket list places and styles that we are excited about! Feel free to inquire about bucket list locations and see if we are offering any bucket list rates!
