Spencer & Kayla’s beautiful day was located right on the coast of Maine in Harrington. After catching the last pieces of a local parade and meeting up with Emily, I followed a dirt road as it turned and twisted into dense trees until we opened to find a beautiful log cabin. An inlet meandered its way through some family property, eventually ebbing out as low tide called it away. The sky was a storm of colors, clouds, blue, and rain, without ever being able to decide which it wanted at which moment. Thankfully, I only got drenched twice before the sun decided to stay, but that’s what extra clothes are for! I loved the hometown feel and the local touches—true Maine wedding style.
Overall, Kayla & Spencer’s wedding was full of cotton candy tones, soft pastels, and subtle pops of a deep tiffany. Spencer’s grandmother handmade the men’s boutonnieres, and the ladies worked hard to design their own flowers. Spencer & Kayla’s simple, elegant touches added a sense of refinement to their day, and the coastal setting was perfect for the start to their marriage—especially because Spencer is a lobsterman extraordinaire.
This midcoast Maine wedding was simple, charming, and had just enough pops to keep my creative photography brain in heaven. They even had the most adorable photo trailer where guests could go in and take photos to add to their guestbook. I tried it out, too, and I 10/10 recommend. It was easy, fun, and so cute! (There are a few photos mixed in here, but scroll to the bottom for a link to the vendor!) I am all for adding whimsical touches that set weddings apart and this photo trailer did just that.
There’s also a full vendor list at the bottom of this post, in case you are wondering who else made this day possible! I was so excited to be included in the photo team, and I’m always amazing at how well wedding professionals are able to work together seamlessly.
I’m in love with all of the images from Kayla & Spencer’s Bar Harbor area wedding, but some of my favorite shots are of the kiddos who decided to take full advantage of the rain+dirt combo (you’ll see what I mean if you keep scrolling). But I also have to mention their ceremony! It was such a romantic set up and was right in the same area as the reception. I LOVE weddings that are all in one location—they allow for so much more photography and special captures. I am so glad I got to be a part of this day, and I can’t wait to share all of these images with you. They are so perfect, I can’t help but stare. Kayla & Spencer—you two are so beautiful together. I wish you a lifetime of happiness and steady seas.

I love the romance and refinement of coastal weddings. If you’re looking for midcoast Maine wedding photographers, I’ll love to chat with you about your vision for your day and how we might be able to make some magic! There’s just something about coastal weddings that I love, and I do still have some available dates. I am, by no means, exclusively one of the coastal Maine wedding photographers. I photograph love stories all across the state and have spent my fair share of time in Europe. Wherever your love story takes you, I am overjoyed to follow along. Shoot me an e-mail! I’d love to connect with you and talk about curating a custom collection.
