Patrick & Saré were brave souls for venturing into Acadia National Park at the first light of dawn. With the gentlest pastels covering the sky, nature was on full display on our way from Bar Harbor. We drove past Sand Beach to meet at the Gorham Mountain Trailhead. The cliffs just across from the parking lot here are a quiet and dreamy spot to watch the sunrise over the ocean and boast an impressive view of Sand Beach’s cove to the left and Otter Cliffs to the right.
That’s the thing about Acadia, though—everything is beautiful. The coastlines, I think, are a little more enchanting. The pastels mix with the natural granite coast to reflect soft tones and give these ocean engagement photos an extra ounce of romance. But we didn’t stop there and hiked nearly to the summit of Gorham Mountain, pausing for a quiet moment on a bluff overlooking the sea. Did I mention that Saré did the whole thing in a formal dress? In a *formal* dress (yes, you read that right).
Her soft blues were traded for summer pinks as we headed to on of my favorite hidden beaches in the park where we enjoyed the waves before eventually leaving the park and capturing some last moments at Seal Harbor Beach.
If you can’t tell, Acadia is one of my favorite places to shoot, but I’ll let you scroll to see why.
Sunrise sessions in the park are amazing because they’re intimate and private, without even much road traffic. Editorial and romantic are the two words I use to describe this engagement session, and I’m so glad that Saré & Patrick were up for the trip.
Looking for an Acadia National Park photographer or more information on elopements and weddings in the park? We’d love to connect and learn if we’d be the right fit.
In the meantime, check out some other projects in the park:
