It was so special being a part of Lexie & Tyler’s summer wedding day at Legacy Ranch & Event Center. I’ve known Lexie since pre-K, so when Tyler contacted me to surprise her with a proposal, I of course was so excited. And because everyone knew how much she loved Tyler, it was no surprise that she said yes.

Their love story followed them through 2020, when COVID caused a hiccup in wedding schedules everywhere. Lucky enough to be their wedding photographer, I tried to be creative in thinking up solutions. Maybe we could do an elopement in Acadia National Park. Perhaps they’d plan an intimate destination wedding with their closest loved ones. Maybe the day would turn into a Maine-based micro wedding with a big reception the following year. But at the end of the day, Lexie & Tyler knew what they wanted: her dream wedding with all the people they loved.

And that’s exactly what happened.

We looked into the next year, and with an incredible vendor team, were able to pull off an amazing summer-infused wedding day with neutral pink tones and an abundance of sunshine. From handwritten letters to each other to her grandmother’s pearls to a best man’s speech that made you laugh and made you cry, Lexie & Tyler celebrated in style, surrounded—exactly as they’d wished—by everyone they loved.

Lexie’s eye for detail and her attention to her wedding planning process made for a fantastic celebration and carefully-thought out details. As they old saying goes…home is where the heart is. It was such a joy celebrating with them as they took the steps to being husband in wife in her hometown of Mars Hill, Maine.
